eDiscovery
There is a growing awareness of the importance of what is known as electronic discovery. It is essential that Lawyers, Business Owners, Managers, IT Professionals, Auditors, and Employees be aware of electronic discovery and the implications electronic documents have on their business. The sheer volume of electronic information, the volatility of electronic information and the protection of privacy and privileged information is much more difficult in the electronic realm. Together in this session we will explore the concept of electronic discovery in today’s business environment across Canada and also explore some opportunities for internal and external auditors around eDiscovery business processes.
Your presenter for this online session is:
Scott Weissent, CISA, CGEIT, EnCE, PCI QSA – Principal, Business Risk Services
Scott is a Principal in the Business Risk Services practice at Grant Thornton and has over 12 years of experience in IT Audit, governance, security and computer forensics. He has significant experience in IT and an internal controls evaluation related to financial reporting and also leads the National Computer Forensics practice, providing both lawyers and businesses with assistance in acquiring and analyzing computer data for the purposes of litigation, electronic discovery or improvement to corporate security. Scott has led a variety of computer forensic and electronic investigations throughout Canada, including electronic discovery services under the Nova Scotia provincial rules of civil procedure.
